Academy trained Alchemist's are meant to help people, but when creating illicit substances is more profitable the streets of Imperial City become flooded with a deadly new Alchemical, lichen allium. When an overdose occurs in the mining hub of Silvertown Elias finds himself blackmailed by his ex, an IC Adjudicator named Laila, into returning to his old city, and his old life.
Elias's past haunts him through the shadows of IC. The obsessed Adjudicator, a scheming Mother, and the dangerous new alchemical all lurk between the flickering neon lights of the claustrophobic metropolis. Elias must do his best to avoid leaving a trail of destruction as he is tasked to find the source of lichen allium.

Six months have passed since Elias took his place at the head of the IC Undergound, and the attempts on his life have not stopped. Samuel finds himself in the Republic Capital with the task of tracking down the masterminds behind the attempts and put a stop to them.
Samuel is isolated with nothing but his wits and revolver while he gets pulled along by the tide of lichen allium through the old streets. Old grudges are not forgotten and Samuel struggles to keep a level head, lest he lose it.
